Sexual Harassment
Sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination. It is unwelcome conduct on the basis of sex (of a sexual nature or otherwise):
- by an employee of the member who conditions the provision of an aid, benefit, or service of the member on an individual’s participation in that unwelcome sexual conduct;
- determined by a reasonable person to be so severe and pervasive and objectively offensive that it effectively denies a person access to the member’s education program or activity; or
- sexual assault or dating violence, domestic violence, or stalking based on sex.
Any member of the campus community or public who witnesses, is subjected to, or is informed about incidents of illegal discrimination, sexual harassment, and/or related retaliation involving faculty, staff, or students, please contact the university’s Civil Rights Officer/Title IX Coordinator:

Title IX
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity. Sexual harassment, which includes sexual violence, is a form of sex discrimination. Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is committed to providing an environment free from discrimination, including discrimination based upon sex. EDCS serves as the Title IX office and has the following responsibilities:
- Oversee overall Title IX compliance
- Ensure prompt and equitable resolutions
- Establish a centralized reporting process for all sexual harassment/misconduct allegations on campus
- Conduct on-going and annual climate checks/tracking/monitoring of sexual harassment/misconduct allegations on campus
- Coordinate all training, education and prevention efforts
- Provide resources to students, faculty, and staff to address concerns related to sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual misconduct, and sex discrimination
