Islander Lights 2024 Holiday Village
Islander Lights will take place this year on Friday, November 22nd starting at 5:00 PM. Register your Student Organization/University Department to participate in our Holiday Village to promote your organization and host a holiday craft or activity appropriate for the general community (including small children).
The tables will be set up in a "Holiday Wonderland Village" style, so we encourage you to decorate your table and go big! Tables can follow a theme of the holiday season or just be adorable. We hope that people will wander through the village getting to know each organization, enjoying crafts, and seeing our Islander spirit! Please register your Student Organization/University Department no later than Friday, November 15th at midnight in order to secure a table at this event. In order to provide a wide array of activities for Islander Lights guests, we will not allow duplicate activities. Register early as activities will be allocated on a first request basis (i.e. gingerbread house making, reindeer hat creation, etc.).
Set up will begin at 2 PM and judging will start at 4:30 PM. Five points will be deducted from tables that are not ready to be judged at 4:30 PM.
Prizes will be awarded based on the following criteria:
- Quality of activity and potential for engagement
- Holiday-themed
- Creativity / Craftsmanship
- Overall presentation
Preference will be given to setups following the village theme with 3D designs
First Place prize for University Departments: Catering credit with a value up to $200.
First Place prize for Student Organizations: Catering credit with a value up to $200 to be used at a meeting/event.
