Students who want to room with a specific person are responsible for coordinating together and selecting bedspaces in the same unit. Students who want to live with a specific individual should plan to sign up at the same time to ensure they choose the same space.
I want to change my floorplan, can I transfer mid-term?
Transfers may be available as space is limited. To begin the transfer request process, email housing@tamucc.edu with your name, A#, cell phone number, and the reason for your request. A member of the Islander Housing staff will reach out to you and review potential options. Please note that spaces are limited and pricing will vary, transfers may not always be available..
Is Islander Housing co-ed?
Residence hall rooms and apartments with shared bathrooms are assigned as single-gender units based on gender provided through the University's admission application. There are no gender-specific buildings or floors, so neighbors may be of any gender. Students seeking a housing assignment with roommates can voluntarily opt into Gender Inclusive Housing (GIH) in any residential space during the housing application process. In GIH housing residents may be of any gender expression. To obtain more information about GIH, please email housing@tamucc.edu.

Absolutely! PSA students fall under the same residency requirement as other First-Year Islanders.
Yes! Transfer and graduate students are welcome to live at Momentum Village and Miramar. Please note that Miramar is reserved for all First-Year students, so options there will be limited.

A maintenance request must be submitted any time a resident notices that something is broken or not working properly. The request can be submitted 24/7 by visiting the Housing Portal. For more detailed instructions, visit the current resident resources webpage.
All of Momentum Village and Miramar Apartment Buildings 0, 1, 2, and 3 have full-sized beds. The rest of the Miramar buildings have Twin or Twin XL beds.
We are unable to accommodate a request for another bed size prior to the Move-In date. Once you are checked into your room, you can submit a maintenance request to request your preferred bed size, and our maintenance team will do their best to accommodate you.

Are parents required to be co-signers (guarantors) on students’ housing contracts?
No, the guarantor’s signature is not required on the housing contract if the student is 18 years of age or older. Only the resident is required to sign their housing contract. Any student that is under the age of 18 will be required to have a guarantor sign the housing contract on their behalf.
Can my student stay in the same apartment and not move out for the summer break?
Housing contracts run mid-August to mid-May, students interested in living in on-campus housing for the summer can apply for a summer contract by visiting their housing portal.
What are the housing contract terms available to students?
Islander Housing only offers an Academic Year term (10 months) which begins in August and ends in May. If a resident would like to sign a summer housing contract, they can do so via their housing portal.
What are the payment options to pay for the housing contract installments?
Housing contract installments will be reflected on students’ tuition and fee statements in their S.A.I.L. account. Housing contract totals will be broken up into semester charges which allow students and parents to see their total expenses for the semester. Payments are due in accordance with the University’s deadline for payment of tuition and fees. Installment plans can be paid via the student’s S.A.I.L. account and through the Business Office. Installment plans are broken up into 4 payments. Each installment plan must be made per semester. For Fall 2022, there is a one-time $20 fee to enter the installment plan. There is a $25 fee for every installment that is paid late.

Creating a Group

Set Up Your Group
- Group Name: Choose a name for your group.
- Group Size: Select the desired size for your group. This will be based on options predefined by your organization.
- Visibility: Decide if you want others to be able to find your group in search results.

Complete the Setup
Once your group is created, you can:- Use the Menu to confirm your group was successfully set up.
- Edit, delete, or verify your group as needed.
- View the group profile to see how it looks.
- Click Save and Continue to finalize your changes.

You can now see the answers submitted by group members to roommate matching questions.
Joining a Group
If you’re not creating your own group and want to join an existing one, follow these steps:

Start Your Search
- Click Join Group.
- Enter the group name of the one you’d like to join.

Send Your Request
- Click Join Group to submit your request.
- You’ll see a confirmation message letting you know your request was sent.
- Your Outgoing Requests list will now show your pending requests.
Searching for Roommate Groups

Find a Group
- Click Search for Roommate Group.
- Use the filters on the left-hand side to narrow down the results.

Request to Join
- Once you find a group, click Join Group.
- A message will confirm your request was sent, and it will appear in your Outgoing Requests list.
Suggesting Roommates

Get Suggestions
- Click Suggest Roommates.
- You’ll see a list of potential matches based on a specific matching threshold. (Only users who’ve created groups will appear.)

Take Action
From the suggestions, you can:- Add to Group: Invite them to join your group.
- Send Message: Reach out to them directly.
- View Profile: Learn more about them before making a decision.

What does my housing contract look like?
The Islander Housing contracts consist of a first page that is unique to your specific move-in and move-out, and then there are pages 2-10 that make up the housing contract body.
What is an individual housing contract?
An individual housing contract provides each resident with their own separate housing contract and responsibility for only their living space, rental installments, and applicable utility and parking charges. By signing an individual housing contract, you are only taking responsibility for your rental installments and housing contract terms and will not be held liable for any delinquent amounts owed by your roommate(s).
Can I cancel my housing contract after signing it?
Students who have withdrawn or are no longer attending TAMU-CC are eligible to cancel their housing contract in accordance with the terms stated in the housing contract. To begin the housing contract cancellation process, please complete this form and upload the requested documentation. All cancellations are subject to review and approval.
Requests will be reviewed and the student will be notified of the decision. The student and/or guarantor are responsible for any past-due payments, fees, or other charges.
When is my housing bill due?
Your Housing fees will be billed to your student accounts and are are due at the same time as your tuition and fees.
Can I use Financial Aid or my Scholarship to pay my rental installment?
Housing fees will be due per semester and are reflected in students’ University Billing Statement listed on their S.A.I.L. account. Housing fees include the housing contract fee which is the full housing amount due per semester. For example, for a student living at Miramar in a 1-Bed/1-Bath Private residence hall space, their housing contract fee is $3,975 per semester. Other housing contract fees include early move-in fees, housing contract cancellation fees, etc.
Tuition and Fees, mandatory meal plan, and semester housing contract fees for Fall 2023 are due by August 15, 2023, and accessible via students’ S.A.I.L. account. Students will be able to start making payments mid-to-late July in S.A.I.L. for the Fall semester. If receiving financial aid funding, students will be able to utilize those funds for housing contract fees. However, all financial aid will first cover tuition, then university fees, followed by meal plans, and finally housing contract fees.

How can I make a payment?
Payments can be made online at tamucc.edu/sail, or by check or money order payable to the “Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi “and hand-delivered to the Business Office located in Student Services Center (Round Building).
Is Summer housing available?
Yes, Summer housing is available. Students wishing to live at Miramar and Momentum Village during the Summer will need to renew and sign a Summer housing contract. Please contact our office at 361.825.4663 or Housing@tamucc.edu for more information about Summer housing options.
When are the installments due?
Housing Contract installment amount will be reflected on your tuition and fee statement and payment is due in accordance with the University’s deadline for payment of tuition and fees.
Do I need a TAMU-CC parking permit?
Miramar Residents who bring a car must purchase a University Resident parking permit through the University Police Department (UPD). The Resident Permit allows the student to park in designated Resident-only parking lots or in combined Resident/General parking lots. The permit does not give access to General Parking lots.
Momentum Village
Residents will be issued a parking permit/hang tag that is only valid within the Momentum Village gates and provides electronic access to the gates. Those wishing to park on the Island Campus must either purchase a General Permit Garage Permit or pay for hourly parking in the garage.
Is it necessary to purchase a meal plan to live at Islander Housing?
All students residing at Miramar are required to have a meal plan each semester of the academic year. The meal plan is optional for all Momentum Village residents. You can find various and affordable meal plan options.

Texas Senate Bill 1107 (now TEC 51.9192) requires all students entering an institution of higher education (public and private) to either receive a vaccination against bacterial meningitis or meet certain criteria for declining such a vaccination before the first day of the semester.
Please visit the TAMU-CC Bacterial Meningitis webpage to submit proof of vaccination and for important information about vaccination requirements.
- All belongings must be out of the unit (not out in hallways, breezeways or common areas).
- Please leave cabinets, drawers or closets open after removing items inside to aid our team in post move-out inspections.
- Set the thermostat to cool and 72 degrees.
- Lock all windows and doors in your bedroom and front door if applicable.
- Ensure that any ESA or pets have been accounted for and leave with you.
- Take all bikes, kayaks or other stored items.
- All apartment & townhome residents must empty & clean out kitchen cabinets, storage units, and patios.
- Momentum Village residents will also need to turn in their gate hangtags.
To complete the Move-Out Form during office hours, students must enter the office to access a QR code to take them to the form. After office hours, residents can find the QR code posted by the key drop-off box.
The form will ask for information including:
- Your name, Islander email, & phone number.
- Property, building, and unit number.
- A photo of your key and any other items you are turning in.
- Check-Out Acknowledgement.
This does not include SandDollar$ ID cards.

Ddamages will be charged equally between you and your roommates for any damage found in shared spaces unless you or a roommate takes ownership of the damages in the Mmove-Out Fdorm.

- Improper Checkout Charge: $200.00
- Trash: per bag $50.00
- Wall Repair & Painting: $50.00 and up
- Pet Related Damages: $200.00 and up
