TAMU-CC College of Nursing and Health Science Receives Multiple Accolades for Online Learning

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The College of Nursing and Health Science (CONHS) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi has been recognized as one of the best schools for online higher education, receiving accolades in five categories by EduMed.org that honor the college’s overall quality, affordability, and commitment to student success.

CONHS received EduMed.org accolades in the following areas:

• Best Online Nurse Practitioner Programs in Texas
• Best Online RN to BSN Programs in Texas
• Best Nurse Practitioner Programs Online
• Most Affordable Online MSN Programs
• Most Affordable Online Nurse Practitioner Programs

“Online learning has grown in popularity and the benefits in nursing education are wide-ranging,” said Dr. Hassan Aziz, CONHS Dean. “In online nursing classes, students experience adaptability along with peer and faculty interaction. The College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has long been a pioneer in online education and is anticipated to continue in the future.”

EduMed.org is a program that recognizes and supports higher education in medicine and health. They provide students with well-researched content and materials for guidance with scholarships, financial aid, and finding the top schools in nursing, public health, healthcare administration, and other key medical and health disciplines.

EduMed.org researched and analyzed more than 7,700 accredited schools using data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and from the schools themselves. The website’s data science team then applied a proprietary algorithm to rank all qualifying schools for each healthcare discipline. Primary data points include: 

• Academic counseling services
• Career placement services
• Student-to-faculty ratio
• Tuition
• Percent of students receiving school-based financial aid
• Amount of school-based aid per student

To be eligible, a school must hold active regional accreditation and have at least one partially online program in the ranking subject. Just 8% of U.S. postsecondary institutions earned a ranking position.
